Community Shelter Board, in partnership with the YMCA, opened the Van Buren Shelter to address the growing numbers of men, women and families who are experiencing homelessness. The new shelter is designed to move people more quickly into stable housing and stop repeat homelessness.
This event is kind of a big dill and it's going to be sow good! Everyone romaine calm! (we love gardening puns!)
Garden of Hope is a brand new Besa activity! As a volunteer, you will support families staying at the shelter, through healthy food options. We will be planting tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and so much more! There is no need to bring anything except a smile, we'll take care of the rest!
Please note:
  • 14 is the minimum age
  • Closed-toe shoes are required
  • If you're new to volunteering at Van Buren, please print, fill-out, and bring this liability waiver with you

We look forward to supporting families with you!
