Clarfield Farm is part of Urban Farms of Central Ohio, an initiative rooted in Mid-Ohio Foodbank. They are dedicated to transforming vacant sites in under-served neighborhoods into productive, sustainable urban farms that provide food insecure residents access to fresh, local produce, jobs and job training, and opportunities for civic engagement.

Join Besa and Clarfield Farm to help increase access to local produce for our South Side neighbors. Besa volunteers will help plant seeds and seedlings, weed, prune plants, spread compost, and harvest produce. Supplies, including tools and gloves, will be provided.

  • 13 is the minimum age required and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather in comfortable clothes that can get dirty.

  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.

  • Sunscreen is encouraged during warmer months.

  • We encourage volunteers to bring a bottle of water or something to keep hydrated.

  • For instances of inclement weather (snow, rain, etc.) the farm has greenhouses and indoor space for volunteers who prefer to work indoors.

  • Please park near the farm stand that will be located on your left-hand side immediately after you pull into the drive. The school is now open and children are often on the grounds so please use caution and drive slowly. We will gather near the only tree in the parking lot behind the school building closest to the farms high-tunnels

  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
