Colony Cats is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary mission is to address cat overpopulation in central Ohio through public awareness and spay/neuter efforts. Since 2002, their organization has facilitated spay/neuter of nearly 13,500 cats and dogs and placed more than 10,000 pets in homes.

Join Besa and Colony Cats to help clean the open environment living areas. Besa volunteers will ensure living areas are properly cleaned (Colony Cats will train volunteers to safely and effectively clean the adoption center, rotate food and water bowls, pick-up and clean toys, all while socializing with cats.


  • 16 is the minimum age required and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please dress in clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Also, closed toe shoes are required.
  • This event is not recommended for those with cat allergies and/or women who are pregnant.
  • The entrance door will say 'closed', but it's unlocked. A Besa Volunteer Leader will be waiting inside for check-in.
  • Parking is available on-site.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
