Details:

The Broad Street Food Pantry is dedicated to providing food to our urban neighbors who are hungry. Addressing the most basic human need, they help nearly 20,000 individuals a year put meals on their tables.

Join Besa and Broad Street Food Pantry to cook healthy food and snacks for pantry clients. Besa volunteers will prepare and cook food samples that will be provided to clients as they shop they pantry. The food prepared will include items that can be shopped at the pantry and that clients may not know how to prepare.

Besa volunteers can also bake sweet treats for clients at the pantry. Treats will be distributed to clients as they wait to shop. Similar to cookie baking at Ronald McDonald House, volunteers must bring their own store-bought ingredients.

  • This is a kid-friendly opportunity, but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

  • All supplies and ingredients for the food samples will be provided.
  • Volunteers wanting to make sweet treats must bring their own store-bought ingredients. The pantry has a variety of utensils on-site, including hand mixers, spatulas, etc. If your item requires a specific tool, we encourage you to bring it.
  • A lead volunteer from Broad Street Food Pantry will provide orientation and training.

  • Parking is available in the surface lot behind the church.

  • Enter the church through the main entrance at the back of the building.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
