The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio provides furniture to individuals and families in need due to poverty or other severe life challenges. Their goal is for all Central Ohio families to live in furnished homes strengthening family units, improving quality of life, and building a better community.

As a volunteer, your team will support The Furniture Bank and Central Ohio families by assembling furniture. This may include assembling and/or painting furniture from pre-cut materials and hardware. Additional projects may include sorting sheets of wood, loading, and unloading furniture.

  • A lead volunteer from The Furniture Bank will provide orientation and training.
  • Wear clothing that you won't mind getting dirty or paint on.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required; no heels, sandals, or flip-flops.
  • If you have a Giving at Express t-shirt, please wear it for photographs.
  • Please note: This project takes place in their workshop in Franklinton, not the thrift store.
  • Please park inside the fenced lot at the intersection of State St. and Yale Ave. and enter through the door on that side of the building that is labeled “employee entrance”.
  • A Besa representative will be on-site to greet your team and answer any questions.
