Columbus Early Learning Centers (CELC) provides quality early childhood education to Columbus area families. CELC has a 130 year history of serving young children and families in some of our highest need neighborhoods.

We’re inviting the community to join Besa and NBC4 on June 8th at Columbus Early Learning Center's Champion Avenue Center to help create and beautify a community garden. The garden serves as an educational experience for children while supporting families of CELC with fresh and healthy produce. Anyone of any age is welcome to volunteer—including families & kids. There are limited spots.

Volunteers will help plant various seedlings for the growing season and stain wooden benches and flower planters. Supplies, including tools and gloves, will be provided.

  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please dress for the weather and in comfortable clothes that can get dirty.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring sunscreen, since you will be outdoors.
  • Closed toe shoes are required.
  • We suggest volunteers bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated.

  • Parking is available on-site.
  • This event is ADA accessible.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests
