The Mid-Ohio Foodbank aims to provide efficient, effective ways for hungry people to meet their basic food and nutrition needs. Annually, they handle more than 66.5 million pounds of food. Through agency partnerships, they provide more than 149,164 meals every day to hungry people across central and eastern Ohio.

As a volunteer, your team will greet families and provide them with the necessary information on how to shop in the pantry, helping to organize and maintain stocked shelves from the available pantry inventory, and taking pre-packed food orders from the pantry to shoppers waiting in their cars.

  • A lead volunteer from Mid-Ohio Foodbank will be on-site to provide orientation and training.
  • Attire should be something casual, comfortable and that can get dirty. Since warehouse climate can be tricky, layers are recommended.
  • For safety purposes, volunteers are not allowed to wear open-toe shoes, sandals, or loose jewelry.
  • Secure lockers are available (locks provided for you) if needed.
  • Parking is available on-site.
  • A Besa representative will be on-site to greet your team and help answer any questions.
