The Broad Street Food Pantry is helping neighbors put healthy meals on their tables – providing food for bodies, relief to minds, and nourishment for souls. Addressing the most basic human need, they help nearly 20,000 individuals a year with food pantry assistance. Their community garden serves as an educational experience for the children in their after-school program and supports the families in the area with fresh and healthy produce.

Join Besa and Broad Street Food Pantry to help prepare their garden for the winter season. Besa volunteers will help with a variety of task, including: removing weeds and debris, tilling the soil, and adding fertilizer.

  • This is a kid-friendly opportunity, but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • A lead volunteer from Broad Street Food Pantry will provide an overview.

  • Please dress for the weather and in clothing/shoes, you won't mind getting dirty.
  • All tools and gloves will be provided. If you have a favorite gardening shovel or rake, feel free to bring it!
  • We suggest volunteers bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated.

  • Parking is available in the surface lot behind the church.

  • Unfortunately, this event is not ADA accessible.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
