Since 1919, Franklin County Public Health has operated as a full-service health department in the State of Ohio. Their mission is to improve the health of our communities by preventing disease, promoting healthy living and protecting against public health threats through education, policies, programs, and partnerships.

Join Besa and Franklin County Public Health to help provide food to our neighbors in crisis. Besa volunteers will help unload produce supplied by the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, organize and sort produce, and pack produce boxes.

FCPH will provide gloves, hand sanitizer, face mask and we'll also practice social distancing. No client interaction will take place during this volunteer event. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own.

Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.

  • This is a kid-friendly opportunity, but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • This event is outdoors. Please dress for the weather.
  • We encourage wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

  • Depending on the items being unloaded, moderate to heavy lifting may be involved. If you're not comfortable lifting heavier items, please inform your Besa Volunteer Leader at the beginning of the event.

  • Parking is available on-site.

  • This event is ADA accessible.

  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
