COVID-19 Response: Unload Food From Mid-Ohio FoodbankProvide Food to Our Neighbors in Crisis Date: May 18 | Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Venue: Food Pantry at Broad Street Presbyterian Church
Address:
Directions: Details: The Broad Street Food Pantry is helping neighbors put healthy meals on their tables – providing food for bodies, relief to minds, and nourishment for souls. The pantry is continuing to serve the community to the best of their ability amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, they are feeding 40-45 families a day by preparing food boxes that are picked up at the pantry.
Join Besa and Broad Street Food Pantry to help provide food to our neighbors in crisis. As a volunteer, we'll help unload food supplied by the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and organize it in the pantry. Depending on the items being unloaded, moderate to heavy lifting may be involved.
Broad Street Food Pantry will provide gloves, face masks and we'll also practice social distancing. No client interaction will take place during this volunteer event. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own.
Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.
