Details:

Every year approximately 1,200 families and 3,000 children are homeless in Columbus. The Homeless Families Foundation (HFF) educates and nurtures children while empowering families to achieve stable housing. HFF equips and empowers families to provide a self-sufficient, stable home for their children, who in turn are equipped to actively participate in their own education and, ultimately, succeed in life.

Join Besa and Homeless Families Foundation to support homeless youth.  As a volunteer, your team will help stage and set up furnished apartments that homeless youth (18-24-year-olds) with families will live in.

Homeless Families Foundation will provide gloves, hand sanitizer, and we'll also practice social distancing. No client interaction will take place during this volunteer event. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own.

Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.

  • Crystal Gary from Homeless Families Foundation will be on-site to provide an overview. She can be reached at 614-674-8573.

  • All supplies will be provided.
  • If you have a KDEV t-shirt, please wear it for photographs.
  • Street parking is available. Please read all signs carefully!
