COVID-19 Response: Pack and Distribute Food BoxesProvide Food to Our Neighbors in Crisis Date: May 7 | Time: 9:15 am - 11:15 am Venue: Neighborhood Services, Inc
Address:
Directions: Details: Since 1965, Neighborhood Services, Inc. has been feeding our Columbus neighbors. Today, they are continuing to alleviate the effects of poverty by providing nutritious food to those in need amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, they are feeding 70-75 families a day by preparing food boxes that are picked up at the pantry.
Join Besa and Neighborhood Services, Inc. to help provide food to our neighbors in crisis. As a volunteer, we'll pack food boxes and deliver them to vehicles. We will also help stock the pantry. Limited client interaction will take place during this volunteer event.
NSI will provide gloves, face masks and we'll also practice social distancing. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own.
Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.
