Details:

Wexner Heritage Village is a nonprofit provider of health, housing, and supportive services designed to promote healthy living for aging and disabled individuals. Founded in 1951, they have grown to meet the needs of a diverse community of adults through a wide range of services including home health and wellness, subsidized housing and related services for low-income older adults, housing and programming for the developmentally disabled, and long-term and memory care.

Join Besa and Wexner Heritage Village to support local seniors by beautifying their garden!  The garden serves as a space for seniors to get fresh air and exercise. Besa volunteers will help with weeding and planting, as well as light cleaning of outdoor furniture. Supplies, including tools and gloves, will be provided.

Wexner Heritage Village will provide gloves and also practice social distancing. No interaction with seniors will take place during this volunteer event. Volunteers are highly encouraged to bring their own mask or face covering, Wexner Heritage Village will not be providing any.

Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.

  • This is a kid-friendly opportunity, but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Parking is available in the surface lot. Follow the blue signs to The Cottage. When you arrive, ring the buzzer, and let them know you are there to volunteer.

  • This event is ADA accessible.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
