Details:

Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio) is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system founded in 1984. Its expanded mission has made it one of the nation’s largest HIV/AIDS, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) healthcare organizations.

Join Besa and Equitas Health to help address Ohio's opiate epidemic. Equita's Safe Point program is a comprehensive harm reduction model to fight the spread of infectious diseases due to drug use and increase access to drug treatment. As a volunteer, you'll help to assemble 100 harm reduction kits from the comfort of their own home. Each kit includes: 2 tourniquets, 2 caps and/or 25-30 cotton filters. Volunteers will be required to wear plastic gloves (provided) while packing kits.

Harm reduction kits will be dropped off to your home by an Equita's staff member during the week of June 8th. Please include your address in the notes section. Volunteers will be responsible for dropping off their packed kits by June 12th - an address will be provided for you via email upon sign-up.

  • This opportunity takes place in the comfort of your own home.
  • Please include your address in the notes section.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
