The National African American Male Wellness Agency (AAWellness) was established in 2004 to begin the process of empowering men to understand through prevention one can live longer. The National African American Male Wellness Agency is the leading voice of health and wellness solutions for African American Men, their families, and our community. 

 

Join Besa and the African American Male Wellness Walk to support the health of African American men in our community. As a volunteer, you'll assist in the runner area and help with a variety of tasks, including: providing registered participants with information about the COVID health screening process, filling screening supplies, and encouraging men to be screened with health issues!

 

AAWalk will provide masks and also practice social distancing. Your temperature will be taken upon arrival. There will be interaction with participants during this volunteer event. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own. 

 

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 50, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19. 

  • A lead volunteer from the AAWalk will meet you at the Volunteer Registration.
  • 14 is the minimum age required and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring sunscreen and a bottle of water since you will be outdoors.
  • Parking is available in a nearby garage. Volunteers will be provided with a parking voucher prior to the event.

  • This event is ADA accessible.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
