The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers! The need for blood remains more important than ever. Thousands of blood drives have been canceled due to COVID-19, and the American Red Cross has a constant and ongoing need for blood and platelet donations to meet the needs of patient care. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for those in need.

Join Besa and the American Red Cross to help save lives during COVID-19 pandemic. As a volunteer, you'll set up an appointment and donate blood at the German Village Meeting Haus on 3rd Street on March 12th. In addition to providing a critical need, you'll be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Click here to schedule an appointment to donate!

Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows high standards of safety and infection control. Face masks are required to be worn at all times and social distancing will be observed.

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 60, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19.

  • 16 is the minimum age required to donate blood, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • This drive takes place at the German Village Meeting Haus.

  • Parking is available in the surface lot and on surrounding streets. Please read all signs carefully.

Don't forget to snap a photo of yourself donating blood and saving lives! Email us at or tag Besa on social media (@GiveBesa)!
