YWCA Columbus stand-ups against injustices within our community and passionately protect the most vulnerable among us. They empower women, people of color, and the underprivileged by initiating systematic social change that will create a Columbus of peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Their 50-room emergency shelter offers families a secure place to sleep while they receive the critical support they need to find permanent housing.

We’re inviting the community to join Besa and NBC4 online as we gather virtually to make fleece blankets for families staying at the YMCA family shelter. Using Zoom, we will guide volunteers through making an easy no-sew fleece blanket! Volunteers are also welcome to include encouraging notes for both the families and staff at the YWCA family shelter. This is a great volunteer opportunity to do with children!

  • Volunteers are responsible for purchasing their own supplies and dropping off their blanket.
  • Click here to join the Zoom Meeting on Wednesday. The meeting ID is: 891 8171 8627
  • Can't join the Zoom? No worries! You can still make and drop off your blanket, details are below.
