Started in 2007 as a lone community garden on a small vacant lot, Franklinton Farms has since developed into a thriving network of gardens and food production sites scattered throughout the neighborhood’s urban landscape. Growing food is the cornerstone of their efforts to improve the neighborhood. Franklinton Farms has grown and donated thousands of pounds of fresh food to local food pantries.
Join Besa and Franklinton Farms to help increase access to local produce in our community! As a volunteer, you'll be assisting with general stewardship and maintenance of the farm. Tasks may include weeding, raking, planting, harvesting, and preparing the garden beds. Volunteers may also work indoors, either tending plants in our high tunnels or assisting with property maintenance, tool organization, and other various tasks. Supplies, including tools and gardening gloves, will be provided.

Volunteers are required to bring their own face masks and must be worn at all times. Social distancing will be observed. No client interaction will take place during this volunteer event.

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 50, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19.
