The mission of the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio is to reduce the impact of poverty by providing furniture to Central Ohio families and individuals struggling with severe life challenges. In their 20 years of operation, they have served over 60,000 families. Furniture with a Heart is a store that sells new and gently used furniture, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Furniture Bank!

Join Besa and the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio to support families in our community. As a volunteer, you'll support The Furniture Bank and Central Ohio families by assembling furniture! This may include assembling and/or painting furniture from pre-cut materials and hardware. Additional projects may include sorting sheets of wood, loading, and unloading furniture. Moderate to heavy lifting will be involved.

Face masks are required to be worn at all times. Social distancing will be observed. Masks and gloves are available upon request. Limited client interaction will take place during this volunteer event. 

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 60, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19.

• 14 is the minimum age required to volunteer and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
• Wear clothing that you won't mind getting dirty or paint on. Closed-toe shoes are required; no heels, sandals, or flip-flops. 
• Please note: This project takes place in their workshop in Franklinton, not the thrift store. 
• Please park inside the fenced lot at the intersection of State St. and Yale Ave. and enter through the door on that side of the building that is labeled “employee entrance”.
• Unfortunately, this event is not ADA accessible.
• Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.
