Directions: Details: The Weinland Park Community Garden (WPCG) began in 2005 to inspire youth to appreciate and support environmental preservation. The garden has turned a barren, unfruitful land into a place of beauty for the entire community to enjoy. The food grown at the Weinland Park Community Garden is harvested for: Weinland Park teens and residents who helped grow it, Fruit of the Vine food pantry, and DOMA's Freedom a la Carte food truck which provides job training and nutrition education to survivors of human trafficking.
For the July session, we'll be taking on a number of mid-season garden maintenance tasks including weeding, watering, and helping to clear out and organize a small greenhouse on the site. Total time is: 6pm to 8pm. Age Minimum with Adult - 8
What to wear
Wear weather and garden appropriate clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, including closed-toe shoes to protect your feet. If you have your own gardening or work gloves, please bring those along. Don't forget a hat and/or sunscreen as well.
Where to park
There is a parking lot for the Guild which you can enter from either E. 6th Ave or N. 5th St. You can see the garden from the parking lot.
