Ronald McDonald House Charities Of Central Ohio

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children being treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital and other area hospitals. RMHC of Central Ohio is the third largest in the world and serves more than 3,000 families each year by providing over 20,000 nights at the House. Our programs are grassroots-driven to enable the Charity to offer help where children need it most- right in our own communities. The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio allows families to stay together, which helps aid in the healing process. It takes an entire community to provide for children and families in need. As our need for services continues to grow, our mission has remained the same.

Great time

This was a fun volunteer opportunity. It didn't give a lot of contact w the families at RMDH, but was a good chance to get to know other volunteers.

Fabulous time Baking cookies

This was my first time volunteering for Besa and I brought my 6 year old son Alex! Both of us had such an amazing time. Ian was very welcoming and helpful and the staff and volunteers at the House were very friendly and accommodating! The other volunteers were very warm and gracious to both me and my son! We are so looking forward to volunteering again next month by cleaning the RMH!

Baking Cookies at RMH

This was my first time Baking Cookies at the Ronald McDonald House. Such nice people to work with and beautiful kitchens to use! One of the volunteers at RMH offered to give us a tour. What an amazing place! It's so good to know there is a place like this to support families who are going through so much. I would definitely do this again!!!

Chocolate chip cookies

This was my second time baking cookies at the RMH. I thought this experience was even better than the first because the other girl I was volunteering with and I got to talk to one of the woman who's son was at the house. She was cooking his dinner so we got to interact which was nice :)

First Besa Experience

Helping to clean the Ronald McDonald House was great! This was my first Besa experience and Sarah and the other volunteers made me feel so welcome. Even though they had been volunteering with Besa for an extended period of time they still took the time to give me a tour of the house and go over what needed to be done. RMH is a great cause, I just wish there were more opportunities than just once a month! I will definitely be exploring more opportunities with Besa!

Cookie Bake

This organization had a great idea here. This is my 3rd trip to Ronald Mcdonald House. First time making cookies. I really enjoyed the people from the group as well as the working together approach all of us had. Can't wait to do more with Besa. Tell me where do I go next....?

Cookie baking was the BEST time I've had yet! AWESOME EVENT!

This is the first Besa volunteer opportunity I have been to that I had the chance to focus on the volunteers I was working with; we were able to truly get to know one another and how they became a part of BESA, all while donating our talents and time to benefit others.

I learned that one of the girls found out about BESA on Facebook through a friend of hers and just moved back from New Orleans. She had a stint working in AmeriCorps and brought a friend along with her. She just moved back to Columbus and was looking for ways to get involved again in this community. Then there was a couple who had been working with BESA awhile and I got to hear about what her and her husband do, how they met, what events they like, etc. It was so ironic that the Volunteer Leader worked in a similar professional field as me. It gave us something to talk about. Plus, the last woman who came to help is a grandmother who nannies her nephews and grandkids. She doesn't have a job other than nannying and wants to spend more time giving back and keeping busy.

I know that's not really feedback as much as it is telling you what happened, but I left with a huge smile. I know it doesn't have an immediate/direct impact on the individuals we are helping since we aren't interacting with them as much, but it was so fun to bake with the BESA volunteers and so fulfilling to know that families are going to eat our baked goods and feel so appreciative for something so simple.

Love love love. Thank you.

I absolutely loved touring the Romald McDonald house and hearing about all the amazing ways Columbus companies and organizations have come together to make this house a home for those in need. The cleaning of the house was a piece of cake. I would definitely recommend adding this to your volunteer to-do list.

Making Cookies

What a beautiful organization! I was welcomed with such sweetness and appreciation. The event was well planned and it was easy to just plug right in, as this was my first time volunteering with Besa. I will definitely spread the word to my friends about Besa and will be volunteering again very soon!

Baking cookies at the Ronald Mcdonald house was a blast. I met some interesting people - even one woman who utilized the charity when she was young. The Besa and house staff made me feel very comfortable, and the kitchens were stocked with all the necessary equipment to whip up delicious snacks for the residents. p.s. check out the GIANT stuffed bear in the library.

Good opportunity for a great organization

We had a great time baking cookies for the Ronald McDonald house.

The kitchens had everything necessary for the actual baking, including a KitchenAid mixer!

Make sure to turn the overhead vents on if you tend to loose track of time!

Great Time with Ronald McDonald House & Besa

My 10 yr old son and I have volunteered twice now with Ronald MCDonald House through Besa. My son joined me in helping to paint the 2nd floor, then asked me to sign us up to help bake cookies for the residents! The opportunity to volunteer with him is a priority for me. It's great to have found an organization where we both have a great time, meeting new people and participating in activities in a fun, team oriented setting.

Easy and fun for all ages.

The volunteer event with the Ronald McDonald House is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to give back to the community in a fun and rewarding way. Besa did all the legwork beforehand, allowing for volunteers with all different levels of experience to partake. I especially loved the bagels and impromptu music that came with the painting.

I have to admit that it was nice to see members of the Besa organization jump in with the volunteers to get the job done. It speaks volumes to the organization itself.

Can't wait for the next volunteering event!

An Inspiring Experience

What an extraordinary experience we had working side by side with friends to help paint the second floor of the Ronald McDonald House. The staff was great! Everything was well organized, our purpose was clear, and there were lots of laughs. With every brush stroke, we knew we were contributing to the comfort of the families who stay at the house. Thank you for the privilege of being part of such a wonderful organization!

Sharing Time, Supporting an AMAZING Org

Volunteering with friends and fellow board members of GiveBesa.org at Ronald McDonald House Charities was not only a FUN experience but knowledgeable as well!

Members at the Ronald McDonald House were truly pleasant and helpful which proves how they've been successful for SO long!
Learning what a top-notch organization Ronald McDonald House Charities is and how supportive they are of others in times when needed most broadens my mind/gives meaning to how everyone can make a difference by just sharing time in supporting each other.

I plan on sharing more of my time in supporting RMHC of Central Ohio’s mission!

Great Time with a Great Organization

Volunteering for Ronald McDonald House Charities was an awesome experience. The staff at the House were friendly, grateful and ready to help-out in any way possible.

The work is fun and the feeling that comes with the completion of the volunteer time is unmatched. I look forward to working with the House in the future!
