LifeCare Alliance

Formed in 1898, LifeCare Alliance is Central Ohio’s first in-home health care agency, Ohio’s first agency to provide visiting nurses, and the nation’s second agency to deliver Meals-on-Wheels. LifeCare Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that provides a comprehensive array of health and nutrition services to older adults and medically challenged or homebound residents of Central Ohio through its signature programs: Meals-on-Wheels, Senior Dining Centers, Wellness Centers, Help-at-Home, Visiting Nurses, Columbus Cancer Clinic, Project OpenHand (HIV/AIDS), Columbus, Groceries-to-Go and IMPACT Safety. The Agency’s mission is to lead the community in identifying and delivering health and nutrition services to meet the community’s changing needs.

LifeCare Alliance has emerged as a national leader in merger collaborations, having successfully completed four in the last eight years with Meals-on-Wheels of Madison County, Project OpenHand-Columbus, the Columbus Cancer Clinic and IMPACT SAFETY. These mergers have eliminated or reduced costs and the redundancy of services in Central Ohio, resulting in more funds for programs, enhanced services and an increase in client access to basic needs.

LifeCare Alliance has begun several social entrepreneurship endeavors to provide added funding for our clients, including L.A. Catering, meal sales, corporate wellness programs and immunizations.

Will volunteer here again!

My small group -- partly my coworkers from CoverMyMeds, partly not -- worked with Ali Iovino to pack up items for Meals-on-Wheels' deliveries. The tasks were simple, but it was so satisfying to help. I would love to do this again!

Meals-On-Wheels

Volunteering with the LifeCare Alliance/Meals-on-Wheels are such great events! I've done something a little different each time. There is usually an assembly line formed and the time goes by so quickly! Always a fun group of people and an awesome way to spend a Monday evening.

Great way to help out our community

Great event that involved preping the coolers and bread for next days delivery. Its a great organization that needs the help of volunteers to be able to provide the meals to people in need. Sign up today and you won't be disappointed.

Meal Packing for Meals on Wheels

Jay the volunteer coordinator is awesome; such a cheery attitude and big smile - just got to love his drive and dedication. I was part of a group from work (Express) and we all had a wonderful time getting to know the other volunteers while giving some time for such a worthy cause. I will be back to volunteer.
