Organize The Student Success Store Warehouse

Date: September 28 | Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Venue: Commercial Self Storage

Address:
1509 Blatt Blvd
Gahanna, OH 43230

Details:

Since 2016, Student Success Stores have operated free and anonymous spaces for students to shop right inside their school. The stores stock items such as food, clothes, school supplies, and hygiene products. By providing students with the basic essentials, Student Success Stores helps ensure each child starts the school day healthy, confident and ready to learn.

Join Besa and Student Success Stores to provide local students with basic essentials, and help them thrive in school. Besa volunteers will organize the Student Success Store Warehouse. Tasks may include sorting donations, counting and organizing products, and fulfilling school orders.

  • A lead volunteer from Student Success Stores will provide an overview.

  • 12 is the minimum age required and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes are encouraged.

  • The warehouse does not have a/c so it can get pretty warm during summer months. We would recommend wearing short sleeves, shorts and brining something to keep hydrated.

  • This event is ADA accessible.
  • Court-appointed volunteering: At this time, we can not accept court-appointed requests.

Student Success Stores could use the following donations to support the students in Columbus City Schools. If you’d like to donate any of these items, please bring them with you when you volunteer and notify your Besa Volunteer Leader.

  • Non-perishable food items (pasta sauce, ramen noodles, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meat, etc.)

  • Shampoo and conditioner (especially for curly hair)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Body wash
  • Men's and women's deodorant
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Winter clothes (coats, hat, gloves)
  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Toilet paper
  • School supplies
