My Very Own Blanket

I was a little apprehensive about volunteering for this as I have zero sewing experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was so much to do that didn't involve sewing. My Very Own Blanket provides personalized blankets for foster kids. There is a whole process to this and they have set up stations for this. There are sewing machine stations, but there are far more non-sewing stations set up. I spent my time putting together top and bottom quilt pieces. There was also ironing stations and teddy bear cut out and stuffing stations. It was a great experience being able to create unique designed blankets for kids in need. I can't wait to do this again and my even take them up on their sewing class they have. I encourage everyone to try it.

Mid-Ohio Senior Package Program

I've always enjoyed volunteering for mid-ohio foodbank in the past and this time was a unique experience. They had a room setup with a rolling assembly line that put together food packages for seniors. It was nice to be able to put together these special care packages and not just loading big pallets of food. It was more personal and was a joy to be apart of. Mid-ohio Foodbank helps so many other organizations around ohio and it was great being able to be a small part of that.

Habitat for Humanity

Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity is such an amazing experience. Being able to be apart of something as big as building an entire house for someone in need was fun. I'm not gonna lie. It was a full day of tough work, but it was worth it. I was able to work along side and meet the person that the house was being built for. I believe this is a truly a unique experience that shouldn't be missed. No building experience is necessary and the leads on site are great at offering direction to newbies. I can't wait to do this again!

Columbus Diaper Coalition

This organization was a pleasure to volunteer for. The Ladies running the diaper coalition have a great heart for needs of mother's in Columbus. It's amazing seeing how many diapers they give out to people in need and was nice being able to help them get the thousands of diapers ready to distribute. I highly recommend getting involved with Columbus Diaper Coalition. You won't be disappointed. I'll be at the next one for sure!

Senior House Projects in Worthington

This was a fun opportunity to help local seniors with around the house projects that they would otherwise have a hard time completing. Anything from washing windows, painting, or yard work. There were projects big and small. It was great seeing the community come together for a good cause. Big organizations and even the girl scouts were there to help. Overall great experience. Can't wait to do this next year!

Great way to help out our community

Great event that involved preping the coolers and bread for next days delivery. Its a great organization that needs the help of volunteers to be able to provide the meals to people in need. Sign up today and you won't be disappointed.
