Community Shelter Board, in partnership with the YMCA, opened a shelter to address the growing numbers of men, women, and families who are experiencing homelessness. The shelter is designed to move people more quickly into stable housing and stop repeat homelessness.

Join Besa and the Van Buren Shelter to help support families experiencing homelessness. Besa volunteers will work side-by-side with the YMCA kitchen staff to provide dinner to families. This includes: preparing the dining room, serving meals to guests, clean-up and interacting with guests.

  • **Please note: timing for dinner service is now 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
