Gladden Community House is a settlement house located in the heart of Franklinton. Since 1905, they have been an essential support system and engine for change in the Westside, providing education and recreation programs, emergency assistance, advocacy, and support for individuals, families, and groups.

Join Besa and Gladden Community House to support Franklinton senior homeowners. Nearly 1,000 local seniors who want to live independently without being isolated participate in Gladden's Senior Citizens Outreach program.
As a volunteer, your team will provide outdoor beautification to a senior's home. Activities may include trimming bushes, mulching, weeding, raking, trash clean up and yard waste removal.

  • A lead volunteer from Gladden Community House will be on-site to provide orientation and training.

  • Please wear clothing you won't mind getting dirty and dress for the weather, we will be outdoors. We recommend volunteers wear long pants and long sleeve t-shirts.

  • If you have a CoverMyMeds t-shirt, please wear it for photographs.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required.

  • All the necessary tools and gloves will be provided.

  • The senior's address has not yet been confirmed. We will provide the address as well as parking details as we get closer.

  • We encourage volunteers to bring a bottle of water or whatever keeps them hydrated.
  • A Besa representative will be on-site to greet your team and answer any questions.
