Details:

The Broad Street Food Pantry is helping neighbors put healthy meals on their tables – providing food for bodies, relief to minds, and nourishment for souls. The pantry is continuing to serve the community to the best of their ability amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, they are feeding 40-45 families a day by preparing food boxes that are picked up at the pantry.

Join Besa and Broad Street Food Pantry to help provide food to seniors in crisis. As a volunteer, you'll pack food boxes, load them on a van, and distribute them to seniors living in Poindexter Place, an affordable senior living facility. Once the food is packed and loaded, volunteers will drive to Poindexter Place to help distribute the food. Poindexter Place is located approximately 1 mile from Broad Street Food Pantry.

Broad Street Food Pantry will provide gloves, face masks, and provide hand sanitizer. The pantry is small, and will try their best to practice social distancing. Your temperature will be taken upon arrival. Limited client interaction will take place during this volunteer event. If you have your own gloves, face mask and/or hand sanitizer please feel free to bring it/use your own.

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 50, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19.
