The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus is where hands-on work to safeguard democracy leads to civic improvement. Since 1919, the League has worked to encourage active participation in government, increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influenced public policy through education and advocacy. The League is strictly nonpartisan.

Join Besa and the League of Women Voters to support National Voter Registration Week of Action!! There is an information gap that prevents voting-eligible citizens from getting registered to vote, casting a ballot, and having their voices heard in our democracy. National Voter Registration Week of Action seeks to meet eligible voters where they are to encourage them to register to vote. As a volunteer, you'll work in small teams to help Easton patrons register to vote or complete absentee ballot applications. No prior voting knowledge or training is required! The most important qualities: a positive attitude, willingness to help, and be ready to help more voices be heard this election season.

The League of Women Voters will provide hand sanitizer, and we'll also practice social distancing. You are required to bring your own mask. Safe interaction with people will take place during this volunteer event.

Ohio’s current stay-at-home order permits people to continue helping neighbors. Healthy and willing volunteers are needed now more than ever, especially to feed the hungry. While we have many neighbors in need, we must each take care of ourselves first. If you are a vulnerable population—an older adult, a cancer patient, live with asthma, etc.—please stay home. If you have traveled out of the country recently, please stay home. If you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of the virus as shared by the CDC—fever, coughing or shortness of breath—please stay home.
