The United Methodist Free Store provides clothing and household items to individuals and families in a hospitable atmosphere that affirms the self-worth of each individual. Everything in the store is provided to families, free of cost, so they aren't burdened with paying for basic necessities. More than 50,000 families have become members of the Free Store since they opened our doors in January 1999.

Their annual Christmas Shop provides Free Store families an opportunity to select brand new toys, bicycles, clothing, and coats for their children, free of charge. Last year’s Christmas Shop served 500 children, and they plan to serve that many again this year!

Join Besa and the United Methodist Free Store to spread holiday cheer to southside families! As a volunteer, you'll help with a variety of tasks, such as assisting families as they select holiday presents for their children and organizing gift stations.

Face masks are required to be worn at all times. Social distancing will be observed. Masks and gloves are available upon request. Limited client interaction will take place during this volunteer event.

The health and safety of volunteers is a priority. If you are sick, over the age of 60, or have a chronic health condition, it is in your best interest to stay home. Click here for more information about COVID-19.
