Heartwarming Experience

I had a wonderful time doing a learning lab with the children at CELC! I also felt it was an eye-opening experience seeing everything the teachers and center directors are doing for these children. CELC is serving such a great need in our community. I am so grateful for the chance to help, and hope to volunteer again very soon.

Can't wait to go again

Our family had a great time today at the Early Learning Center on Broad. We were going to finish the outdoor fencing but due to weather we worked inside doing fall cleaning in each of the rooms. The staff is incredible and had everything ready to go for us. They got super bonus points from the 13yo for having donuts he could munch on. We will definitely sign up for future ELC events!

Columbus, OH 43202

Details:

Wagons Ho Ho Ho is a charity founded on delivering Christmas hope. Now in its 11th year of existence, Wagons Ho Ho Ho provides new wagons filled with food for the holidays to families in need. They also donated an additional 5,000 pounds of food to area food pantries and worked with more than a dozen charitable distribution partners to find families in dire need of help during the holidays.

Due to COVID, Wagons Ho Ho Ho has changed how they are building wagons this year. In addition to their annual build day, they've asked Columbus Early Learning Centers (CELC), one of their wagon distribution partners, to host a build day. CELC provides affordable access to high-quality early childhood education that has strengthened the lives of thousands of children and families for over 130 years!

Join Besa, Wagons Ho Ho Ho, and CELC to provide wagons filled with food to Near East Side families. Besa volunteers will be a Wagoneer and help build bright, new wagons, that will be filled with food for the holidays! All tools will be provided, however, feel free to bring your own portable tool-kit. This event will be full of holiday spirit and we encourage you to come dressed in your festive best!

Volunteers are required to bring their own face mask and we'll also practice social distancing. No client interaction will take place during this volunteer event.
