Rewarding Night

My husband, step-daughter, her friend and I had a great time at the Van Buren Center serving dinner. We worked the family side and we stayed super busy the entire time. It was a wonderful night for the family to bond and serve. Thanks for the great organization and experience.

Great!

Volunteering at the Van Buren Shelter was my first experience with Besa and I really enjoyed it! It was very gratifying to help the nice folks who depend on the shelter for a warm meal. I've already signed up to help at the shelter again! Katie, the team leader, did a great job. She was upbeat, energetic, and enthusiastic!

Serving Dinner to Families

Volunteering at the Van Buren Shelter is great! The staff and people we serve dinner to are always so friendly and appreciative (and, as always, the Besa team is amazing too). The event is organized incredibly well and the time flies by! I would definitely encourage everyone to participate – it really is such a welcoming and rewarding experience.

Fantastic Experience!

This was my first time volunteering with the Community Shelter Board, and I will be attending again! The event was well-organized thanks to the friendly BESA volunteer leader Kassandra, who provided clear direction and instructions to the attending volunteers. The CSB staff gave a tour to the newbies providing a humbling insight to their purpose of homelessness prevention. The opportunity was engaging with a welcoming atmosphere, and I am looking forward to next month!
