Girls on the Run of Franklin County

Girls on the Run of Franklin County is a life-changing, non-profit, prevention program for girls in the 3rd-8th grade. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The 24-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions. All of this is accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers and the community.

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run 5K is a celebration of and for the girls who are completing a ten-week season of Girls on the Run. Their 5K is a non-competitive event that will bring a smile to your face!

Roll up your sleeves, practice your best Bob Ross and get ready to paint! As a Besa volunteer, we'll manage the face painting station during the event -- no experience required! We'll use adhesive face stencils and puffy paint to paint by number and transform each face into a mini Picasso.

  • All supplies will be provided
  • This event takes place outdoors, dress weather appropriate and in clothing, you don't mind getting a little paint on
